DANCE, ARCHIVE AND RECONSTRUCTION
Our first performance research addresses the theme of archiving and reconstruction, one of the most relevant concerns in the field of contemporary dance today.
For this project, we enquire about the archive not only with a patrimonial interest (what and how to preserve something), but above all with a creative interest, which means, in what ways the archive also serves to reflect on the creation practice itself.
This project started in 2015 with the creation of the dance piece Cenit, which deals with the reconstruction of the Spanish dance piece Zenith. In 2018 we decided to reconstruct the Cenit piece, in order to research with the creative possibilities offered by investigating the archives of the archive.
From this process emerges the last version (until now) of this project, titled Xenit. Finally, this project also takes a theoretical form, where from texts written by both members of the group and external, we reflect on this practice.
XENIT: LECTURE-PERFORMANCE (2018)
In this scenic exercise, marked by irony and humor, there are no dancers or performers; only the directors, who will try to reconstruct the dance piece Cenit (2017), from their bodies, memories and diverse registers (documents, audios, videos). Cenit, in turn, is a scenic exercise that addresses the issue of archiving and reconstruction, based on the Catalan dance piece Zenith (2012). Xenit questions the limits between copy and original, and the implications of working from Latin America with an archive of an European dance piece.

Performances
October 2018. Festival Escenas al siglo XXI: Emergencia Documental, at Espacio
La Vitrina.
CENIT (2017)
This mise-en-scene is based on the contemporary dance piece Zenith created in Europe in 2012. The only approach to this piece is a trailer found on YouTube and then a Skype interview with its creators. The experimentation revolves around the concepts: body, archive and reconstruction, through which the aim is to investigate the creative possibilities of this dance piece. The interpretation will always betray the original, but at the same time it will unveil other compositional and discursive possibilities contained in it.
